What we collect when you contact us, what we do with it, and what we don't. Written plainly, in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act.
George Pest Worx ("we", "us") respects your privacy. This policy explains how we handle personal information under South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA). It applies to this website, gardenroutepestcontrol.co.za, and to information you give us by phone, email or WhatsApp.
Last updated: 24 October 2026.
What we collect
We only collect what we need to answer your enquiry and do the job.
- Through the contact and quote forms: your name, phone number, town, the type of pest problem, your email address if you choose to give it, and whatever you write in the message or notes
- When you phone, email or WhatsApp us: your name, contact details, the property address for the visit, and the details and photos you send about the problem
- When we do the work: the property address, what we found, what we treated and with what, and any certificates or reports we issue
- For businesses: the contact person's details, site information and service records needed for your pest control file
We don't ask for ID numbers, banking passwords or card details through this website.
Why we use it
- To reply to your enquiry and give you a quote
- To arrange, carry out and follow up on the work, including guarantee call-backs
- To send you service reports, beetle certificates, soil poisoning certificates and invoices
- To keep proper business, tax and service records
- To meet our legal obligations
We won't use your details to send you marketing you didn't ask for, and we don't sell, rent or trade personal information to anyone.
Who we share it with
Only where it's needed:
- People you ask us to send things to, such as a conveyancer or estate agent who needs your beetle certificate, or a body corporate or managing agent
- Service providers that run our systems, such as our website host, our email provider and Google for website statistics, who handle information on our behalf and only as needed to provide that service
- Authorities, where the law requires it
Cookies and website statistics
With your consent, we use Google Analytics to understand how people use this website: which pages are visited, how visitors arrive (for example from a Google search), roughly where in the world they are, and what kind of device and browser they use. Google Analytics sets cookies in your browser to do this. We use these statistics only to improve the website, and we don't use them to identify you or to show you advertising. The information is processed by Google, which may store it on servers outside South Africa, under Google's own privacy terms.
Google Search Console shows us which searches bring people to the site and how often our pages are clicked. Those figures are totals, not records of individual visitors, and no cookies are involved.
Google Analytics only runs if you choose Accept on the cookie banner, and the Cookie settings link in the footer lets you change your mind whenever you like. Your browser's own settings can block or clear cookies too, and Google offers a browser add-on that opts you out of Google Analytics on every website. The website works normally either way. Our cookie policy lists each cookie and what it does.
The network that protects and delivers the website may also set strictly necessary cookies for security, such as telling real visitors apart from automated traffic. These don't identify you personally.
This website doesn't use advertising cookies.
Links to other services
If you tap the WhatsApp icon, call us or email us, your message is handled by that service under its own privacy terms. Links to other websites are provided for convenience; we're not responsible for how they handle information.
How we protect it
We keep personal information only for as long as we need it for the purposes above, including our record-keeping obligations, and take reasonable steps to keep it secure and to limit who can see it. If we ever become aware of a breach that affects your information, we'll tell you and the Information Regulator as POPIA requires.
Your rights
Under POPIA you can:
- Ask whether we hold personal information about you, and ask for a copy
- Ask us to correct information that's wrong or out of date
- Ask us to delete information we no longer have a lawful reason to keep
- Object to us using your information for a particular purpose
- Complain to the Information Regulator of South Africa if you're unhappy with how we've handled your information
To make a request, email info@gardenroutepestcontrol.co.za or phone 044 012 5011. We may need to confirm who you are before we act on it.
Changes to this policy
Any change to how we handle personal information will appear here, with a new date at the top of the page.
